17-year-old dead, 18-year-old injured after two shot in Taunton incident
Massachusetts State Police detectives, Taunton Police and Homicide Unit prosecutors are actively investigating a homicide which occurred just after midnight today in the City of Taunton.
According to Gregg Miliotte of the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office, at just before 12:30 a.m., Taunton Police responded to 351 Lothrop Street after receiving a 911 call regarding a person being shot inside the mobile home at that address.
First responders located the victim, who was later identified as Khamitri Cole, 17, of Brockton. He was pronounced deceased at the scene of the shooting at 12:45 a.m.
Investigators later determined that a second man, an 18-year-old from Holyoke, appears to have also been shot during the same incident and transported himself to the hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
Miliote stated that the investigation into the homicide is active and ongoing and no other information could be released.
