17 and 27-year-old men shot dead in separate incidents in 2 days in Massachusetts city
Authorities are investigating two murders in a Massachusetts city in less than a 30-hour span.
Saturday night at approximately 9:47 p.m., Lawrence Police responded to a report of shots fired in the Brook Street area. Upon arrival, the responding units located a 17-year-old male suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. He was treated on scene by paramedics and EMTs from Lawrence General Hospital, and subsequently transported by ambulance to that facility, where he was pronounced deceased.
On July 8 at 12:18 a.m., Lawrence Police responded to a call at Riverfront State Park on Everett Street, where they found a 27-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound to the head who was pronounced deceased on the scene, said Essex County District Attorney Paul Tucker and Lawrence Police Chief Melix Bonilla. The Massachusetts State Police Detective Unit (SPDU) for Essex County is actively investigating the incident along with the Lawrence Police Detectives Unit.
