16-year-old male, 15-year-old female, injured in significant Tiverton crash
Two local teens were injured Monday after a significant collision.
According to Lieutenant Jessica Anderson, at just before 6:45 p.m., officers of the Tiverton Police Department were dispatched to the area of 340 King Road for the report of a single car accident involving a utility pole.
Responding officers located a vehicle with significant damage that had crashed into a utility pole. The operator, a 16-year-old male and the front passenger, a 15-year-old female self-extricated from the vehicle.
With the assistance from the Tiverton Fire Department both occupants were subsequently transported to Charlton Memorial Hospital with minor, non-life-threatening injuries.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the vehicle was traveling east on King Road and left the roadway for reasons unknown at this time.
