Family is dealing with the passing of a teen who was killed in a fiery Massachusetts highway crash.

Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan and Weston Chief of Police Denis Linehan have confirmed an ongoing investigation into a fatal accident that occurred on Monday involving a single vehicle with two occupants on Route 20 in Weston.

Police received an automated 911 call from Apple’s automated crash detection from a vehicle that was being operated by a 20-year-old man.

Upon arrival, police located the vehicle engulfed in flames in the woods on the eastbound side of Route 20, past Colpitts Road. The responding officers attempted to extinguish the fire but were unsuccessful. Upon arrival of the fire department, the fire was extinguished. The two occupants of the vehicle, the driver and a 15-year-old female passenger, were both pronounced dead on scene.

According to a GoFundMe fundraiser, and those who knew her, the 15-year-old passenger was Reese Bailey. Family members are understandably heartbroken over the sudden loss of a loved one gone too soon.

The incident is being investigated by the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office, the Weston Police Department and the Massachusetts State Police Collision Analysis Reconstruction Section.
