13 year old arrested in case involving ammunition found at Norton school
As part of the on-going investigation into the ammunition found in a locker at the Norton Middle School, police received additional information late Wednesday evening that contained photos. The photos, depicting a rifle, were sent by a suspect to another student.
Norton Police responded last evening to that suspect’s home with the additional information and subsequently located a rifle and ammunition in the suspects bedroom.
According to police, the ammunition was consistent with those found in the locker at Norton Middle School. The suspect, who is a 13 year old Norton Middle School student was subsequently arrested on Thursday at the Norton Police Station and is charged with Unlawful Possession of a Firearm and Unlawful Possession of Ammunition (269-10 (h).
The student will be brought to Taunton District Court for arraignment.
The Investigation continues to be on going by members of the Detective Division and School Resource Officers, in cooperation with Norton Public Schools.
