A vacation tragically turned deadly for a Massachusetts boy and his family.

According to a GoFundMe fundraiser, “Bradley Solis Esteban was a 12-year-old boy from Lynn, Massachusetts, who had taken a trip to Guatemala alongside his siblings to spend quality time with their long-distance family. Sadly, what was supposed to be a memorable and joyful trip turned into a devastating experience for the family, where both Bradley and his grandmother, Silvia Lopez, lost their lives in a car accident as they voyaged on a long-awaited road trip together.”

According to media outlets in Guatemala, the crash took place on Friday in San Andres Chapil, San Pedro Sacatepéquez when the vehicle overturned due to possible brake failures.

Esteban is in the process of being transported back to Massachusetts.

No word yet on when and where the services will take place.
