10-year-old Massachusetts boy seriously injured in dirt bike versus car crash
STOW 一 Police Chief Michael Sallese and Fire Capt. Barry Evers report that the Stow Police and Fire Departments responded to a crash involving a dirt bike and motor vehicle.
On Tuesday, July 11, at about 1:36 p.m., Stow Police and Fire received reports of a dirt bike striking a motor vehicle at the private Crow Island Airpark.
Upon arrival, first responders learned that a 10-year-old male, who was operating the dirt bike, struck the vehicle head on. First responders provided medical assistance on the scene. The victim was flown by medical helicopter to a Worcester hospital for treatment of serious injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening.
Through a preliminary investigation, police learned that the dirt bike was traveling east on a perimeter road and struck the motor vehicle on a blind corner. The motor vehicle operator remained on scene and is cooperating with police.
An investigation by Stow Police and the Massachusetts Environmental Police remains active and ongoing.
