1 teen is dead, 5 other teens injured after early morning crash on Cape Cod
1 teen is dead, and several others injured after an early morning crash Tuesday on Cape Cod.
According to police, at just after 2:00 a.m., Mashpee Police and Fire responded to a single vehicle crash on Carlton Drive near Swain Circle.
Upon arrival, officers found a heavily damaged Toyota Rav4.
It appears the vehicle was traveling north on Carlton Drive when the driver lost control and struck a tree.
Police and Fire personnel discovered that there were 7 people in the vehicle between the ages of 15-17. They reside in Mashpee and Falmouth.
6 of the 7 were transported from the scene to area hospitals two with life threatening injuries. A 17-year-old from Mashpee later died from those injuries.
The crash is under investigation.
