Westport boy makes offer that will be tough for local police to refuse

A Westport boy is offering his support for law enforcement and correctional officers with a little help from his parents.

On June 23rd at 11 a.m., Joshua Abrantes will be outside of his home at 50 Forge Road in Westport to pass out refreshments and donuts to any and all law enforcement and correctional officers.

Since his parents can remember, Joshua has had the dream of being a police officer some day and for that he would love to give back and thank any and all law enforcement.

According to his mother Natashia, Joshua has said that he wants to do this to simply say thank you to officers for helping people and also for them to have enough to drink because it’s getting hot. “In his own little mind he truly feels police officers are superheroes.  Last year for his 5th birthday he had a huge policeman party. The Westport Police Department came by, trained him for the job, and let him sit in cars. It was amazing.”

Joshua even wears his police officer hat almost every day.

Here are a few pictures from Joshua’s police themed birthday party.
