New Bedford man seriously injured at Raynham Flea Market

RAYNHAM — Fire Chief James T. Januse and Police Chief James W. Donovan report that the Raynham Police and Fire Departments responded this morning after a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle in the parking lot of the Raynham Flea Market.

Rescuers responded to 1 Judson St. at 9:25 a.m. for a report of a person struck by a small pickup truck. Upon arrival, firefighters and police officers found a 62-year-old New Bedford man lying down in the parking lot of the flea market, which was open at the time.

The victim sustained serious injuries and was taken by a Raynham Fire Department ambulance to a landing zone at a nearby parking lot. From there he was airlifted by medical helicopter to Rhode Island Hospital.

The driver, a 75-year-old Raynham man, remained at the scene and was cooperating with police. The incident is under investigation by the Raynham Police Department.
