Fall River group refurbishing old fire station for museum

The Fall River Fire Museum Inc. is raising funds to restore Anawan #6 Fire Station at 1181 North Main Street.

The fire station, built in 1873, would be used as a museum. They have been acquiring many unique pieces of fire related equipment, writings, photographs, and other items regarding the many large fires that have occurred in the city. Some of the pieces include two early fire engines that served in the city.

They are also looking to memorialize city firefighters that died in the line of duty.

The group has been raising funds for several years and the hope is to continue to restore the building so it can open to the public sometime in 2018. Any amount of money can help because they can use your donation towards matching other grant moneys.
