Fall River Fire Department claims sixth Fight For Air Climb crown

The Fall River Fire Department and the Fall River Police Department joined other local departments in the Fight For Air Climb in Providence Saturday morning.

The Fall River Fire Department and the  Fall River Police Department joined other local departments in the Fight For Air Climb in Providence Saturday morning.

Our Fall River Fire Department proudly took first place for the fastest climb at the event held at the Omni Providence Hotel. Over 30 first responder teams participated. Many others also competed in the Corporate and Friends/Family divisions. The climb consisted of 22 Floors and 348 Steps.

Captain Bob Ragonesi lead his team of 11 to victory for the sixth time. Team members included Dep Chief St.Martin, Lt.Dan Medieros, Lt.Paul Berube, Lt.Mike Baldi,
Jonathan Mederios, Josh Hetzler, Mike Carvalho, Rob White, Ken Furtado, and Joel Correia.

Captain Patrick McNerney, Sean Aguiar, Joseph Galvao, and David Gouveia competed for Fall River Police.

So far over $150,000 has been raised from the event.

The Fight For Air Climb is an American Lung Association signature fundraising event. Climbs are held in prominent skyscrapers. Over the last several years, the Fight For Air Climbs have raised more than $45 million to support the mission of the American Lung Association.

More than 30,000 participants from 52 Climb events across the country came together last year to raise more than $8.3 million.
