Authorities find man deceased for several days at Massachusetts Wastewater Treatment Plant

BROCKTON – Massachusetts State Police and Brockton Police are investigating after a male body was found in water at the city’s Wastewater Treatment Plant, Plymouth County District Attorney Timothy Cruz has announced. 

At approximately 8:15 a.m. this morning, Brockton Police received a 911 call for a report of a body found in the water by a work crew at the Waste Water Treatment plant located at #303 Oak Hill Way. 

The Brockton DPW contacted Brockton Police and the Massachusetts State Police Detective Unit assigned to the Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office, and an investigation commenced. 

Preliminarily, it appears that the body had been in the water for several days. The identity of the male has not been determined. 

The state Office of the Chief Medical Examiner accepted jurisdiction, and will determine the manner and cause of death. The incident remains under investigation by Massachusetts State Police and Brockton Police.
